The Door Closers And My Grandpa
Right after retiring, my grandfather set up a small office and worked in his home library. With 8 grandkids and growing, it is remarkable exactly how he was able to support all of us especially when we were all together in the house barging in and out of his office door without having any door closer. We all know that my grandfather is working but he never ever complained even if all his grandchildren were rowdy, boisterous and noisy. He lets us mess around the house or even with his things. And, one of our favorite items to play with was actually his combination lock box.
He never yelled at us or perhaps berated us for troubling his work. He never ever told us to never go to his office. He was definitely an extremely patient guy. But, my grandmother was of the other side of the story. She would always inform us that she will put a door closer within the library in case we won’t behave properly. Every now and then, if we see her having all riled up, we will behave however after a couple of moments we will be back to our normal loud behavior.
Subsequently one day, our grandfather got really sick. That bothered most of us. We loved him a lot that it could be an absolutely different world in case he’ll leave us. He was actually the best grandfather in the world. While we were in the hospital, all eight grandchildren decide to have a meeting to discuss about something significant. In that meeting, we now have decided to contribute any sum that we could so that we can purchase door closers for our grandfather’s library. For us, that was the best way that we can show to him precisely how much we love him.
